How Ranmi uses your Google data
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Ranmi is a relationship management workspace for investment and advisory teams: the firms and people you work with, your pipeline, your email and your meetings, in one place. Connecting Google is optional. This page explains each Google permission Ranmi asks for, what we do with it, and how to take it back.
Ranmi's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Signing in with Google
Permissions: your name, email address and profile picture (openid, email, profile).
We use these only to sign you in. We don't ask for anything else when you sign in.
Connecting Gmail and Google Calendar
You connect your mailbox in Ranmi under Profile, Email accounts. Google then asks you to allow:
- Read, compose and send email, and manage labels (gmail.modify). We sync your conversations into Ranmi's Messages so you can read and reply to them next to the firms and people they concern. When you mark a conversation read or unread, archive it or move it to trash in Ranmi, we make the same change in Gmail, so both stay the same. We never permanently delete your mail. Attachments are fetched from Gmail when you open them and aren't stored.
- Send email on your behalf (gmail.send). Email you write in Ranmi is sent from your own address and appears in your Gmail Sent folder. Ranmi only sends what you wrote and chose to send, including emails you scheduled or a sequence you started.
- View and edit events on your calendars (calendar.events). When you schedule a meeting in Ranmi, we create it in your Google Calendar with its attendees, and update or cancel it when you change it. We read upcoming events on your primary calendar to keep those meetings in step.
Importing your Google contacts
Permission: see your contacts (contacts.readonly).
On the Import page, choose Google contacts. We read your contacts once, show them on a review screen, and save only what you confirm. You can undo the import. We never store the access Google gives us for this: it's used once and expires within an hour, so Ranmi can't read your contacts again without asking you. If you haven't connected Gmail, we also revoke it straight away.
What we never do
- We never sell Google user data or use it for advertising.
- We do not use Google Workspace API data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or machine learning models.
- When you use Ranmi AI (for example, asking a question about your emails), the relevant content is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, only to answer you. It is not used to train any model.
- No one at Ranmi reads your Google data unless you ask us to, it's needed to investigate security or abuse, or the law requires it.
Disconnecting and deleting
- Disconnect Gmail and Calendar any time under Profile, Email accounts. Ranmi gives up its access at Google and deletes the conversations it imported from that mailbox.
- You can also remove Ranmi from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Deleting your Ranmi account or workspace deletes the Google data stored with it.
